De-Googling

I left Facebook a while ago, I left Twitter recently, and now I'm trying to leave Google and Amazon. I'm writing this post to list some of the alternatives I've been trying to use in place of those providers. So far, I'm using:

• Proton Mail instead of Gmail
• Pulse SMS instead of Google Hangouts
• Mastodon instead of Twitter / Facebook / Instagram / etc.
• Firefox instead of Google Chrome / Chromium
• DuckDuckGo instead of Google Search

I intend to try out:

• Nextcloud instead of Google Drive and Google Calendar
• Parse Server instead of Firebase
• Wordery instead of Amazon (for buying books)
• Blurb or Lulu instead of Amazon (for publishing books)
• Ting instead of Project Fi
• LineageOS or Plasma Mobile instead of Android
